Acts 2:16-36

16But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

17 a“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
bthat I will pour out my Spirit con all flesh,
and your sons and dyour daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18even on my male servants
Greek bondservants; twice in this verse
and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and fthey shall prophesy.
19And I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
20 gthe sun shall be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood,
before hthe day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
21And it shall come to pass that ieveryone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
22Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, ja man attested to you by God kwith lmighty works and wonders and signs that mGod did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know 23this Jesus,
Greek this one
odelivered up according to pthe definite plan and qforeknowledge of God, ryou crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.
24 sGod raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because tit was not possible for him to be held by it. 25For David says concerning him,

u“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
26therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell vin hope.
27For you will not abandon my soul to wHades,
xor let your yHoly One zsee corruption.
28You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
29Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about aathe patriarch David abthat he both died and acwas buried, and adhis tomb is with us to this day. 30 aeBeing therefore a prophet, and knowing that afGod had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that aghe was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32This Jesus ahGod raised up, aiand of that we all are witnesses. 33 ajBeing therefore akexalted at the right hand of God, and having received from althe Father amthe promise of the Holy Spirit, anhe has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. 34For aoDavid did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

ap“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at my right hand,
35until I make your enemies your footstool.”’
36Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that aqGod has made him arboth Lord and Christ, this Jesus aswhom you crucified.”

Acts 3:22-26

22Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you ata prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen auto him in whatever he tells you. 23And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet avshall be destroyed from the people.’ 24And awall the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days. 25 axYou are the sons of the prophets and of aythe covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, azAnd in your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’ 26 baGod, bbhaving raised up his servant, sent him to you first, bcto bless you bdby turning every one of you from your wickedness.”

Acts 13:26-39

26Brothers, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you bewho fear God, to us has been sent bfthe message of bgthis salvation. 27For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because bhthey did not recognize him nor understand bithe utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, bjfulfilled them by condemning him. 28And bkthough they found in him no guilt worthy of death, blthey asked Pilate to have him executed. 29And when bmthey had carried out all that was written of him, bnthey took him down from bothe tree and laid him in a tomb. 30But bpGod raised him from the dead, 31and for many days bqhe appeared to those brwho had come up with him bsfrom Galilee to Jerusalem, btwho are now buhis witnesses to the people. 32And we bring you the good news bvthat what God promised to the fathers, 33 bwthis he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm,

bx“‘You are my Son,
today I have begotten you.’
34And as for the fact that he raised him from the dead, by, bzno more to return to corruption, he has spoken in this way,

“‘I will give you cathe holy and sure blessings of David.’
35Therefore he says also in another psalm,

cb“‘You will not let your Holy One see corruption.’
36For David, after he had ccserved the purpose of God in his own generation, cdfell asleep and cewas laid with his fathers and saw corruption, 37but he whom cfGod raised up did not see corruption. 38Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, cgthat through this man chforgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39and by him cieveryone who believes is freed
Greek justified; twice in this verse
from everything ckfrom which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.
